A long time blues fan, Mike Markey took up harmonica in late 70’s having been inspired by the likes of Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson and Sonny Terry as well as contemporary players like Kim Wilson of the Fab Thunderbirds and Magic Dick of the J.Geils Band.

Mike soon joined the Gwent based Tom Williams Jazz and Blues Band played for a number of years at the prestigious Brecon Jazz Festival as well as accompanying Jazz legend George Melly and supporting Georgie Fame.

By 16 Nick was a gigging guitarist with blues, rock, jazz and even soul bands around South Wales - Stormy Monday, Fat Mama's Soul Band, Sister Moon, Screaming Joff & the Solid Senders, Spook, The Ramjets, The Playtones, The Tom Williams Jazz Band - amongst many others.
