Back by popular demand one of the most original and creative bands to have come out of South Wales in recent years. New line lineup and new songs - not to be missed!

Bungleflint

One of the UK's top Shadows tribute bands, faithfully recreate the music of this famous band featuring all of their instrumental hits from "Apache" to the beautiful "Theme from the Deer Hunter" They also include a selection of harmony vocals ranging from Cliff Richard, Buddy Holly, Elvis and many more from that "golden age" of music. The band represented the UK at the 2005 Pipeline Rock Instrumental Guitar Convention in London and have appeared in concert to rave reviews all over the UK.Their album "Deja Vu" features a guest appearance of Ex-Shadow bassist Alan Jones.

As well as providing tuition at the children's workshops the Raglan handbell ringers will be performing at a range of venues throughout the village

The Cliveden Set

Inspired by the works of gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt, who dominated European jazz during the 1930's - 40's, The Cliveden Set play some of the finest compositions from that era in their own inimitable style.

The band, which was first formed in 1986, has a core of six members led by guitar virtuoso Ray Martinez, but also features regular guest soloists.

Cambrensis - Handel's Messiah

Messiah from Scratch will be led by Kelvin Thomas and members of the Cambrensis choir and orchestra. As well as being a highly-respected singing teacher at the Welsh College of Music and Drama, Kelvin Thomas is a well-known choral conductor and a leading bass-baritone. In the early eighties, Kelvin was involved in founding Cambrensis to sing at the meetings of the Baptist World Alliance in Los Angeles. Since then, the members of Cambrensis have travelled, recorded and broadcast extensively. Highlights of the Cambrensis calendar are the annual Christmas and Easter concerts at the St David's Hall in Cardiff which are always sold out within minutes of tickets going on sale.

As part of the 2006 Raglan Music Festival, Cambrensis choir and orchestra under the inspirational direction of Kelvin Thomas will be providing the backbone for a rehearsal and performance of Handel's oratorio open to all who would like to sing Messiah from Scratch. There is no charge but it would be helpful if participants came to St Cadoc's Church, Raglan with their own copy of the vocal score. The rehearsals will take place from two o'clock and the performance will be at 7.30.

JQB- Jonny Quick Band

Performing a diverse range of rock from the Eagles and Thin Lizzy through to the Kaiser Chief's and Damian Rice the band, fronted by Raglan based singing sensation Jonny Quick, features Rob Atkins (Base), Mathew Height (Lead guitar), Doug Hepburn (drums) and Charlie Fountain (saxophone).

M.E.L

Five piece jazz/funk/pop sensation formed in November 2000 and based in Abergavenny. The band are regulars at Brecon International Festival of Jazz, Torfaen Jazz Festival (aka Pontypool Jazz in the Park) and Café Jazz Cardiff, as well as performing at Weddings, private functions and events in their local area.

The Mighty Pledge

For over fifteen years "The Pledge" have been wowing audiences with their soul vibe. If the pledge don't get you strutting your stuff on the dance floor nothing will. A great band to top off the Festival weekend.

Raglan VC Primary School

Once again Raglan School will be performing a special Festival concert at the school on the friday afternoon. Featuring excerpts from Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo, orchestral performance and dance the concert promises to set the Festival off in style.

Raglan Light Orchestra & Dramatic

The BBC Radio Wales team is returning to Raglan at Festival time for another recording in the popular Celebration series. Two services will be recorded at Raglan Baptist Church on the evening of Sunday 11th June for broadcast later on in the summer. The Raglan Light Orchestra and teenage drama group Dramatic will both be involved but everyone is welcome to come to join in the hymns and songs and share the experience.

Usk Youth Brass Band

Conducted by Jeff Jones The Usk Youth Brass Band is made up of young and older, novice and experienced players, who entertain the community in and around Usk. The band recently came 2nd at the Crosskeys Festival, 3rd at the Coleford Festival and have competed in the Greater Gwent Solo and Quartet Contest

John Wetton and Geoff Downes

Two legends of the progressive rock scene back together and performing tracks they originally performed with King Crimson, Yes, Uriah Heap, Asia and the Buggles. They will also be performing tracks from their stunning new album Icon. Icon samples here.

John and Geoff will also be performing an accoustic set at Raglan Baptist Church on Sunday 11th.

The Zephyr Band 

One of South Wales's finest Classic Rock bands performing the hits which shaped rock music from the  late 60s to the present day. Features Raglan's very    own Colwyn Knight on bass.
